Leishan County is affiliated to Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, located in the southwest of Qiandongnan Prefecture, bordering Taijiang, Jianhe and Rongjiang counties in the east, Sandu Shui Autonomous County of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in the south, Danzhai County in the west, and Kaili City in the north. Between east longitude 107°55 '-- 108°22', north latitude 26°02 '-- 26°34', the total area of 1204.36 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 1 sub-district, 5 towns and 3 townships

Leishan County has a long history, and its Miao construction, costumes, customs, songs and dances, Musical Instruments and crafts still retain the traditional, ancient and original rich cultural connotation. It is known as the Miao cultural center and a living "textbook of Miao history and culture". The main scenic spots in the territory include Langde Shangzhai, the hometown of Chinese folk art and the national key cultural relics protection unit, the first Miao village in China, Xijiang Thousand Households Miao Village, Zhangao Village, the birthplace of Bronze Drum, Wudong Village, the most beautiful Miao village in China, Xinqiao Village, the century-old water granaries, and other ethnic tourism villages. There are national nature reserve, national forest Park Leigong Mountain, Xiangshuiyan Waterfall, Scenic spots such as Gaoyan Grand Canyon and historical sites such as Leigongping "Dianjiangtai" and Getou "Xiumei Ying". In 1997, Langde Town was awarded the title of "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art" by the Ministry of Culture.
