Lindian County, subordinate to Daqing City of Heilongjiang Province, is located in the central and western part of Heilongjiang Province, the northern part of Songnen Plain, the center of the Harbin - Daqi Corridor, adjacent to Anda City of Suihua City in the south, Mingshui County and Qinggang County in the east, Qiqihar City across the river in the west, Dulbert Mongolian Autonomous County in the southwest, Fuyu County and Yi 'an County in the north, with a total area of 3503 square kilometers. On August 21, 1992, Lindian County was placed under the jurisdiction of Daqing City. In 2011, Lindian County was named "China's Hot Spring Town" by the Ministry of Land and Resources. In 2018, Lindian County was identified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, PRC as a pilot area for the integrated development of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries in rural areas. On February 26, 2020, Lindian County withdrew from poverty. On May 19 of the same year, Lindian County was selected as one of the counties (cities and districts) with a basic balance in the development of compulsory education in 2019.
In 2020, the GDP of Lindian County is expected to reach 6.48 billion yuan, an increase of 0.5%; Revenue in the general public budget reached 250 million yuan, an increase of 1.7%, exceeding the 3 billion yuan mark for the first time. The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents reached 19,420 yuan and 10,921 yuan, up 5 percent and 12 percent respectively.
