Liquan County, subordinate to Xianyang City of Shanxi Province, is located in the middle of Guanzhong Plain, bordering Jingyang on the east, Qian County on the west, Xingping and Xianyang on the south, and Chunhua and Yongshou on the north. Between east longitude 108°17 '40 "-- 108°41' 46" and north latitude 34°20 '50 "-- 34°50' 02", the total area of 1018 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 1 sub-district and 11 towns.

Liquan County has been a county for more than 2200 years. It has 21 ancient cultural sites and 5 ancient buildings. It is one of the 18 key cultural relics tourism counties in Shanxi Province. The Zhaoling Mausoleum of Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, covers an area of 300,000 mu with 209 tombs, which is the largest imperial mausoleum in the world. Zhaoling Museum has a collection of more than 8,000 pieces of cultural relics. The six horses of Zhaoling Mausoleum are famous at home and abroad.
