Lishui District (Lishui County), the municipal district of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is located in the south-central part of Nanjing City, at the junction of Jiangsu (Jiangsu) and Anhui (Anhui) provinces, Nanjing (Nanjing), Changzhou (Changzhou), and Zhenjiang (Zhenjiang) and Ma (Maanshan) cities. Lishui District has a regional area of 1067 square kilometers and a permanent population of 501400. Lishui County was established in the 11th year of the Kaihuang reign of the Sui Dynasty (591). After many construction changes, it was under the jurisdiction of Nanjing in March 1983. In February 2013, Lishui County was abolished and Lishui District of Nanjing was established.
