Longhua County, located in the middle of Chengde City, Hebei Province, on the west side of the Qilaotu Mountains, is the place where Dong Cunrui, a national famous combat hero, died bravely. It is adjacent to Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County and Harqin Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north and northeast, Shuangluan District, Luanping County and Chengde County in the south, Fengning Manchu Autonomous County in the west, and the county government is located at No. 115, Xingzhou Road, Longhua Town.

In 2020, the total population of the county will be 347707 (permanent population in the seventh census). The total area of the county is 5473 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 1 street, 10 towns, 7 townships, 8 ethnic townships, 8 communities and 362 administrative villages. In 2012, it was awarded the title of "Hometown of Chinese Calligraphy".

Main tourist attractions: Maojingba National Forest Park, Martyr Dong Cunrui Cemetery, Zhangsanying Agricultural Ecological Science and Technology Sightseeing Park, Seven Hot Springs, etc.

During the 13th Five Year Plan (2016-2020), the total regional GDP of Longhua County totaled 64.96 billion yuan, with an average annual growth of 5.9%.

On February 29, 2020, Longhua County withdrew from the poverty county list and officially lifted its hat.
