Longlin Autonomous County belongs to Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located in the northwest of Baise City, at the junction of Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces. It is connected to Tianlin County in the east, Xilin County in the south, and Xingyi City in Guizhou Province in the north. Longlin Autonomous County is located in the southeast edge of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with a higher elevation within the territory, mainly in the middle mountains, no plain, the terrain is higher in the south than in the north, from west to east inclination; It is a subtropical monsoon climate zone with no extreme heat in summer and no severe cold in winter.

As of July 2022, Longlin Autonomous County covers an area of 3,518 square kilometers, and has jurisdiction over 16 townships (towns) and 179 administrative villages (communities). In 2021, the GDP of Longlin Autonomous County reached 7.345 billion yuan, up 11 percent year on year. In 2021, the added value of the primary industry was 1.842 billion yuan, up by 8.8% year on year. The added value of the secondary industry was 1.939 billion yuan, up 13.9% year on year; The added value of the tertiary industry was 3.565 billion yuan, up 10.8 percent year on year.

Longlin Autonomous County is one of the only two autonomous counties of all ethnic groups in China. With diverse ethnic customs within its territory, Longlin is known as the "living Museum of Ethnic Minorities" and has won honorary titles such as "National Demonstration County of Science Popularization" and "National Advanced Unit of Quality Family Planning Service". On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. In March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of counties under protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. In November 2019, it was selected into the second batch of water-saving social construction standard counties (districts). On July 29, 2020, it was selected into the national Health township (county) naming list for the 2017-2019 cycle. On November 20, 2020, the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved its withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county list.
