Luhe County, set up in January 1988, is under the jurisdiction of Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the northeast of Shanwei City, at the junction of the eastern coast of Guangdong Province and the Xingmei Mountain Area. It is bordered by seven counties (cities). The total area of the county is 986 square kilometers. It is under the jurisdiction of Hetian Town, Dongkeng Town, Luoxi Town, Xintian Town, Shanghu Town, Shuichun Town, Hekou Town, Nanwan Town and the state-owned Jixi Forest Farm. It is an important part of the Hailufeng Red Revolutionary Base, It is also the birthplace of the Rongjiang River and Luohe River systems, with unique Hakka customs and Hakka culture. Luhe is "the hometown of green plum in China". The planting area of green plum in the county is more than 100000 mu; It is the "township of rural hydropower in China". The county has developed 119000 kilowatts of hydropower resources; It is the "home of architectural decoration in China". Among the "Top 100 enterprises in architectural decoration in China", 22 were founded by the people from Luhe; It is a provincial "forestry ecological county" with a forest coverage rate of 70.7%, and has the largest red cone forest nature reserve in China; Luhe green plum and Luhe papaya are listed as national geographical indication products. It is a pilot project of fiscal reform in counties directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province.
