Luqu County, subordinate to Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the junction of Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan provinces. On April 28, 2019, the Gansu Provincial Government approved Luqu County to officially withdraw from the poverty-stricken county.
