Mengla County, one of the counties under the jurisdiction of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, is located in the southeast of Xishuangbanna Autonomous Prefecture, with a total area of 6860.84 square kilometers. Mengla County is half covered by Laos in the east and south, facing Myanmar across the Lancang River in the southwest, close to Jinghong City, the capital of the autonomous prefecture in the northwest, and adjacent to Hani and Yi Autonomous County in the river city of Puer in the north. It has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 2 townships and 4 farm management committees. The tourist attractions in Mengla County include Mohan Border Trade Zone, Mengla Wangtian Tree, Nanla River Wild Drifting and other scenic spots. On April 30, 2019, the People's Government of Yunnan Province decided to withdraw Mengla County from the poverty county sequence. On January 22, 2020, it was named the National Garden County by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
