Mishan City, is Heilongjiang Province, Jixi city in charge of county-level city, located in the southeast of Heilongjiang Province. It borders Hulin City in the east, Russia across Xingkai Lake in the south, Jixi City in the west, and Qitaihe City in the north. It has Xingkai Lake National Nature Reserve, Tiexi Nature Reserve, Honey Mountain and other tourist attractions. As of 2014, Mishan City has jurisdiction over 7 towns and 9 townships. The total area is 7731 square kilometers. According to the data of the seventh census, the city's permanent population was 339,103 at midnight on November 1, 2020.

Mishan City is known as the cradle of the Chinese People's Liberation Army launcher manufacturing industry, electrical repair industry, armored forces and people's air force, and is the birthplace of the "Northern Wilderness spirit". In June 2020, the Rule of Law Commission of the CPC Central Committee selected it into the list of the first batch of national demonstration areas and projects for building a law-based government.
In 2021, the GDP of Mishan region reached 14.4 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2% year on year based on comparable prices
