Nangong City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province, is managed by Xingtai City and located in the south central part of Hebei Province. It borders Xinhe County in the north, Guangzong County and Qinghe County in the south, and Julu County in the west. The total area is 863 square kilometers. Nangong has a long history and bright culture. It was named after Nangong Shi, one of the Eight Scholars of the Western Zhou Dynasty, who was granted the title of marquis here. Nangong County was established in the early Western Han Dynasty. There are many scenic spots and historic sites in Nangong Lake, Putong Temple, Putong Tower, etc. It was removed from the county in 1986 and established as a city. In 1987, it was approved by the State Council as a city open to the outside world.
