Otog Banner, formerly known as Ordos right wing Middle Banner. It is located in the west of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, bordering Hangjin Banner to the north, Otog Front Banner to the south, adjacent to Wuhai City across Gandel Mountain to the west, facing Alxa League and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region across the Yellow River, and bordering Wushen Banner to the east. The banner is 209 kilometers long from north to south and 188 kilometers wide from east to west. It covers an area of 21,000 square kilometers and is known as the "West Gate" of Ordos. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Otog Banner was 162,726.
In December 2017, it was selected as one of China's top 100 Industrial counties. In November 2018, it was selected into the Top 100 Industrial Counties (cities) in 2018.
In December 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs identified the second batch of advantaged agricultural products with Chinese characteristics. The top 100 counties and cities in Western China. In 2020, the total regional GDP of Otok Banner reached 37.304 billion yuan. In 2021, the annual GDP of Otok Banner reached 51.9 billion yuan.
