The former banner of Otok belonged to the right wing banner of Ordos in Qing Dynasty (Otok Banner). In August 1980, it was analyzed that Otog Banner was located in the south of Otog Banner. Otog Banner was located in the southwest of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, bordering Otog Banner in the north, bordering Shaanxi Province across the Great Wall in the south, facing Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region across the Yellow River in the west, and adjacent to Ushen Banner in the east. Located at the border of Mongolia, Shaanxi and Ning three provinces.
