Pingxiang County, subordinate to Xingtai City, Hebei Province, is located in the middle of Xingtai City, in the south of North China Plain, with a total area of 406 square kilometers. Pingxiang County has a temperate monsoon climate. The People's Government of the County is located at No. 83, Zhonghua Road. By the end of 2021, it has jurisdiction over four towns, two townships and one street. According to the data of the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Pingxiang County is 323675.

Pingxiang County belonged to Jizhou in ancient times. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Pingxiang County was known as 羉. In the 16th year of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty (164), Nandang was changed into Dangtao County. In the first year of Wei and Jing (237), Yingtao County was changed to Pingxiang County, where the name of the county begins today. Xiang Yu, the overlord of the Western Chu Dynasty, led his troops to defeat the main force of the Qin army here, leaving behind historical allusions such as "breaking the fire and sinking the boat", "watching from the wall", and "using one as a hundred". Pingxiang County is Zhang Jiao's hometown, where the Yellow Scarf Uprising was launched. Xinglin Expressway, G340 and Xinglin Highway cross the east and west in Pingxiang County, Dingwei Highway runs through the north and south, and Handan Huanghua Railway passes through.
