Qijiang County

Qijiang District (Qijiang County) is subordinate to Chongqing City, located in the south of Chongqing City, at the junction of the southeast of the Sichuan Basin and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and the Chengdu-Chongqing double-city economic circle. Qijiang District connects Nanchuan District in the east, Xishui County and Tongzi County in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province in the south, Jiangjin District in the west, and Banan District in the north, covering an area of 2747 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 7 streets, 24 towns (by the end of 2019), 365 administrative villages and 90 communities. There are 8 towns including Wandong Town, Nantong Town, Qingnian Town, Guanba Town, Jungle Town, Jinqiao Town, Shilin Town and Heishan Town, and two streets of Wansheng and Donglin are under the administrative jurisdiction of Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Qijiang District is 1011334.

In 2021, the regional GDP in Qijiang will reach 74.233 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8% over the previous year.

The tourism resources in Qijiang District are mainly natural landscapes and cultural resources, including Gujian Mountain, Dingshan Lake, Baiyun Temple, ancient tree fossil group, Shihao Red Army martyrs' tomb, etc.

In November 2015, it was listed as the second batch of national comprehensive pilot areas for new urbanization.
