Qinghe County, under the jurisdiction of Xingtai City, Hebei Province, formerly known as Qingyang, is located in the southeast of Hebei Province, in the east of Xingtai City, bordering the Forbidden City of Hengshui City in the northeast, facing Xiajin County of Shandong Province across the Wei Canal in the east, adjacent to Linxi County and Weixian County from the south to the west, and adjacent to Nangong City by the Qingliang River in the north. Qinghe County has a warm temperate semi humid continental monsoon climate. The seasons are distinct throughout the year. The total area is 502 square kilometers. In the early years of the Sui Dynasty (605), Qinghe Prefecture was established. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Qinghe County belonged to Hebei Province. In 1952, Qinghe County belonged to Xingtai District. In November 1958, Qinghe County was merged into Nangong County. In May 1961, Xingtai District was restored. In July of the same year, Qinghe County was separated from Nangong County and restored to Qinghe County, which belongs to Xingtai District of Hebei Province. In 1993, Xingtai was removed from the region and built into a city, and Qinghe County belonged to Xingtai City. As of October 2021, Qinghe County has 6 towns under its jurisdiction, and the county people's government is located in Gexianzhuang Town.

The characteristic economy of Qinghe County is cashmere products, known as the "cashmere capital of China", and the world's largest distribution center of cashmere and cashmere products. Its annual sales volume accounts for 40% of the world's total and 60% of the country's total, with a total output value of more than 20 billion yuan. Qinghe is also a sub central city in the east of Xingtai City, and has been included in the first batch of power expansion counties and one of the priority medium-sized cities in Hebei Province. Qinghe County is the birthplace of the surname Zhang and the hometown of Wu Song, the hero of fighting tigers by the Water Margin. It has been awarded the title of "Home of Chinese Wusong Culture" by the state.
