Qingliu County is under the jurisdiction of Sanming City, Fujian Province. It is located in the west of Fujian, south of Wuyi Mountain and upstream of Jiulong River. The total area is 1806.33 square kilometers, including 13200 hectares of arable land, 154100 hectares of forest land and 3940.41 hectares of water area. It borders Yong'an City and Mingxi County in the east, Ninghua County in the west, Liancheng County and Changting County in Longyan City in the south, Ninghua County in the south and Mingxi County in the north. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent resident population of Qingliu County was 118029.
Qingliu County, established in the first year of the Song and Yuan Dynasties (1098), is under the jurisdiction of Tingzhou. In 1983, it was under the jurisdiction of Sanming City. It is one of the famous ancestral places of Hakka, and the whole county has rich Hakka customs. The forest coverage rate is 84%, and the reserves of anthracite, jadeite and tungsten are abundant.
Qingliu County is a national commodity grain base county, a national key forestry county, and a national primary rural electrification county. It is also an important base of osmanthus fragrans in the south of China and the largest production base of Luohanpine in China. On December 13, 2012, it was awarded the title of "Hometown of Chinese Lotus" by China Economic Forest Association. In March 2020, it won the title of National Advanced County for Village Cleaning Action, and was praised by the Central Agriculture Office and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
In 2019, the county's GDP reached 1471784 million yuan, up 7.9%.
