In 2019, the GDP of Qingyun County reached 18.5 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1%; Fiscal revenue reached 729 million yuan, up 2.9%; Total investment in fixed assets reached 9.5 billion yuan, total imports and exports reached 360 million yuan, and total retail sales of consumer goods reached 8.2 billion yuan, up 6.5%.

In October 2017, Qingyun County was selected as one of the top 100 counties for investment potential of small and medium-sized cities and one of the top 100 counties for innovation and entrepreneurship of small and medium-sized cities.

In 2018, Qingyun County successfully created "China's Excellent Green Development City", "Provincial civilized City", "Provincial Garden City" and "Provincial Health City" successively.

In April 2018, Qingyun County was approved as a "Sino-French Ecological Demonstration City", becoming the only sustainable city in Shandong Province promoted by the Chinese and French governments.
