Runan County, subordinate to Zhumadian City, Henan Province, borders Pingyu County in the east, Shangcai County in the north, Zhengyang County in the south and Yicheng District in the west, with a total area of 1502 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 4 streets, 12 towns and 2 townships.

Runan is located in Huaibei Plain, with a history of nearly 2000 years. Liu Bang set up Runan County, which was already a land and water wharf connecting the north and south of Central Plains. There are more than 280 cultural sites in the territory, which have been approved by the State Council of China as a county open to the outside world and identified as a famous historical and cultural city by the Henan Provincial Government.

In 2021, Runan County will achieve a gross regional product (GDP) of 27.01 billion yuan, including 6.33 billion yuan of added value of the primary industry, 11.09 billion yuan of added value of the secondary industry and 9.59 billion yuan of added value of the tertiary industry.
