Shehong City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province and administered by Suining City, is located in the center of Sichuan Basin, the middle reaches of Fujiang River and the center of the northern arc of Shuangcheng Economic Circle in Chengdu-Chongqing area, covering an area of 1,496 square kilometers. By the end of 2021, Shehong has jurisdiction over 21 towns and 2 streets, and the municipal government is located at 106 Renmin Street. Shehong has a long history and culture. In the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty (201 BC), Emperor Gaozu of the Western Wei Dynasty set up a county here. In the second year of Emperor Gong of the Western Wei Dynasty (555), Emperor Gong of the Western Wei established "Shejiang" County, which was renamed Shehong in the Northern Zhou Dynasty and remains in use today. On November 18, 2019, Shehong officially withdrew from the county and built a city. Shehong City is the hometown of Chinese folk poetry and painting art, known as "Hometown of Zi Ang, hometown of poetry and wine", is the hometown of Chen Zi Ang, Emperor Hainei Wenzong in the early Tang Dynasty.
