Shibing County is located in the eastern part of Guizhou Province, southeast Guizhou Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture northwest, is the combination of southeast Guizhou, Tongren, Zunyi three prefectures (city), within the territory of Bashi Mountain and Bingshui, take the name of the landscape and get "Shibing".

Shibing County is adjacent to Zhenyuan in the east, Tongren Shiqian County in the north, Taijiang County in the south and Guangxi, Jianhe County in the southeast, and Yuqing County in Zunyi County in the west. It covers an area of 1,531.83 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 5 towns and 3 townships. Residents of Shibing County include 13 ethnic groups, including Miao, Dong, Buyi and Han. North and south long 62 kilometers, 60 kilometers wide, Hunan Guizhou railway across the county, in the town of Yangliutang with Shibing station, 17 kilometers away from the county, and built 320 thousand tons of railway freight yard. The county is located in the transition zone from the second step of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the first step of the eastern hilly plain. The whole terrain is higher in the northwest and lower in the southeast, with an average elevation of about 800 meters. It is a subtropical monsoon humid climate zone with warm and humid climate. The county is located in the central basin of the county, with open terrain, surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on one side. The karst landforms in Shibing County are rich and representative, which has become an important part of the World Natural Heritage "South China Karst". On April 24, 2019, the People's Government of Guizhou Province officially approved Shibing County's withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county list. In 2020, the GDP of Shibing County reached 3.654 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 6.7%, ranking the third in the prefecture.
