The sihui city, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, is administered by Zhaoqing City. Because the four rivers (Xijiang River, Beijiang River, Suijiang River and Longjiang River) in the territory will flow, it is named "Four Meetings". It is located in the middle of Guangdong Province, east of Zhaoqing, northwest edge of the Pearl River Delta, and the lower reaches of the West, North and Sui Rivers. The Tropic of Cancer divides the whole territory in two. It borders Sanshui District of Foshan City in the east, Dinghu District in the south, Gaoyao District in the southwest, Guangning County in the northwest, and Qingyuan Qingxin District in the northeast, belonging to the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Sihui City is 526457. The total area of the city is 1166.38 square kilometers.

In 1993 and 1994, they entered the ranks of the top 100 counties (cities) of the national rural economy and the top 100 counties (cities) of the national economic strength for two consecutive years. In 1996, they achieved a well-off society.

In 2014, Sihui City was selected as the 97th of China's top 100 small and medium-sized cities with comprehensive strength and the 76th of China's top 100 small and medium-sized cities with the most investment potential.

On December 7, 2016, the Fourth National Congress was listed as the third batch of national comprehensive pilot areas for new urbanization.
