Siming District, under the jurisdiction of Xiamen City of Fujian Province (ancient Quanzhou Futong 'an County), is the central city of Xiamen City, located in the south of Xiamen (Xiamen Island), located between 24°26 '~ 24°28' north latitude, 118°03 '~ 118°13' east longitude, composed of the south of Xiamen Island and Gulangyu Island, North and lake District, east, west, south and Xiaojinmen Islands and Zhangzhou across the sea, a total area of 84 square kilometers. As of 2022, Siming District has jurisdiction over 10 subdistricts. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Siming District was 1,073,315.

Siming District is the economic, political, cultural and financial center of Xiamen City, which belongs to the South Asian tropical Marine monsoon climate. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with hills, platforms and plains transitioning to the coast in turn.

In 2021, the total GDP of Siming District reached 225.81 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2%.
