Suide County, under the jurisdiction of Yulin City, Shanxi province. Suide County is located in the southeast of Yulin City, 110°04 '~ 110°41' east longitude, 37°16 '~ 37°45' north latitude, the county is 56 kilometers long from east to west, 51.6 kilometers wide from north to south. It has a total land area of 1,853 square kilometers. As of December 2022, it has jurisdiction over 15 towns, 1 center, 11 communities and 339 administrative villages. By the end of 2021, Suide County has 347,500 registered population and 254,300 permanent residents.

Suide has the reputation of "famous state in Qin and Han Dynasties", "famous state in the world" and "Northwest Dry Wharf". In history, Prince Fusu of the Qin Dynasty, General Meng Tian, and General Li Guang of the Han Dynasty had led the troops stationed there. The famous Prince Zhao, Wenji returned to Han and Han military patrol all passed through here. It is the hometown of Han Shizhong, a famous anti-Jin general. In 1924, the earliest Party and league organization in Northern Shanxi was established in Suide Normal. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, the anti-Japanese Military and Political University, Garrison Area and the commander of 359 Brigade were stationed in Suisui successively. During the period of the Republic of China and before the 1950s, it used to be the seat of the Office of the Administrative Commissioner, playing an important role in politics, economy, military affairs and transportation in Northern Shanxi.

In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of counties under the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. On May 7, 2019, Shanxi Provincial People's Government approved Suide County's withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county list. Suide County was named "the Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art in 2021-2023" by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; It has been honored as "Demonstration County of Tourism Poverty Alleviation in Shanxi Province", "Top Ten Tourism Potential Counties in Northwest China" and "Most Famous Tourism County with Investment Potential in China".
