Suoxian County is located at the junction of North Tibet Plateau and East Tibet mountains and valleys, located in the Suoqu River basin in the upper reaches of Nujiang River, and is one of the "three eastern counties" of Naqu City. It is under the jurisdiction of Nagqu City, Xizang Province, bordering Dingqing County, Qamdo City in the east, Biru County and Bianba County, Qamdo City in the southwest, and Baqing County in the north. The total area is about 5600 square kilometers. Suo County has cordyceps, fritillaria, rhizoma coptidis, snow lotus, poria codonopsis and other plant resources. The administrative area covers 5,631 square kilometers. In 2019, the registered population of Suo County was 55,116. As of midnight on November 1, 2020, Suo County has a permanent population of 52,923.

In 2019, the gross regional product of Suo County was 976.79 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 146.76 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 239.16 million yuan, the general public budget revenue was 39.47 million yuan, and the general public budget expenditure was 1511.107 million yuan.

The famous scenic spots in Suo County are Zandan Temple, Ya 'an Cave hot spring, Yala Mountain. On February 6, 2019, the People's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region decided to withdraw Suo County from poverty.
