Tex County, a county under the Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the eastern section of the Tex River valley at the upper reaches of the Ili River. The county seat is 116 kilometers from Yining City and 815 kilometers from Urumqi. It is adjacent to Gongliu County in the east and north, Hejing County in the east, Zhaosu County in the west, Baicheng County in the south and Chabuchar County in the north. The total area of the county is 8352 square kilometers.

The terrain of the whole county is high from north to south and low from east to west. The south is Nanlu Tianshan Mountain, the north is Zhonglu Tianshan Mountain, and the middle is the flat land of Tex Valley, which tilts from west to east. The Tex River crosses the whole territory from west to east. Rich in mineral resources. By June 2020, Tex County has jurisdiction over 5 towns, 3 townships, 6 farms and 1 beekeeping farm. The county has a horse farm of the Xinjiang Military Region, a 78th regiment of the Fourth Agricultural Division and a Tex forest farm of the Tianxi Bureau. In 2019, the registered residence of Tekes County was 166337, 2672 fewer than the end of last year. Among them, the urban population is 56191 and the rural population is 110146. The minority population is 138083, accounting for 83.01% of the total population. Tex County is the only complete and formal Bagua City in China. In 2008, it was approved by the State Council as the fourth batch of historical and cultural cities.

In 2017, it was awarded the title of "National Garden County". The first batch of national agricultural sustainable development pilot demonstration zones. On September 26, 2018, it won the title of "China Natural Oxygen Bar" in 2018. In 2019, Tex County's GDP was 3436.95 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 1132.96 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 299.9 million yuan, the general public budget revenue was 200 million yuan, and the general public budget expenditure was 1369.01 million yuan. On October 9, 2020, it was awarded the title of the fourth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration cities and counties by the Ministry of Ecological Environment.
