Tongliang District (Tongliang County) is located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the western part of Chongqing, the metropolitan area of Chongqing, and the new urban development zone. It is the hometown of Qiu Shaoyun, the special hero of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, and the birthplace of Tongliang Dragon Lantern.
