Tumen City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture of Jilin Province, Tumen City is located in the east of Jilin Province, the lower reaches of Tumen River, between 42°47 '~ 43°13' north latitude and 129°37 '~ 129°55' east longitude. The total area is 1142.65 square kilometers. Tumen City belongs to the middle temperate continental monsoon climate zone. By the end of 2021, Tumen has a registered population of 101,982. From the Spring and Autumn period to the Han Dynasty, Tumen was the living area of Tourixia language family. In 1984, Seokhyeon Subdistrict office merged with Shinnong Township to form Seokhyeon Town. Tumen is an important station for the Hou-Uzbekistan Expressway, the Chang-Hui High-speed Railway, the Northeast Eastern Railway, and the Eastern Corridor initiated by the China-Mongolian-Japan Trilateral Committee. Tumen is the first county (city, district, banner) approved by the state to be a Class A border open city, a pilot county for the construction of a tight county medical community, and a high-quality and balanced compulsory education. The main scenic spots are Fengwu Reservoir Scenic spot, Tumen Park, Tumen estuary.
