Urumqi County, subordinate to Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountains and the southern edge of Junggar Basin. Between 43 ° 01'08 N "~44 ° 06 ′ 11 ″ and 86 ° 37 ′ 56 ″~88 ° 58 ′ 22 ″ east longitude. Urumqi County has a continental arid climate in the middle temperate zone, with large temperature difference, intense changes in cold and hot weather, long sunshine hours and sufficient heat. As of 2019, Urumqi County has jurisdiction over three towns, three townships and two district streets, and the county government is located at No. 99, Nanhua Road, Banfanggou Town, Urumqi County. In the second year of Emperor Xuandi of the Han Dynasty (60 years ago), the Huns were sent down to the Han Dynasty by the king and the sages. The Han Dynasty unified the Western Regions and set up the Western Regions capital protectorate in Wulei. In December 1959, Urumqi County was set off from Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, under the jurisdiction of Urumqi City. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Urumqi County plans to build a tourism road and rural road network in the southern part of Urumqi with the framework of "two ring roads (the road around Zhongshan and the road around Qianshan), two horizontal roads (the road from Wangjiagou to Tori Township, the road from the International Airport to the South Tourism Base) and two bridges (the Nanshan Bridge and the Ganhezi Bridge)". [6] Urumqi County has famous scenic spots such as the Tianshan Grand Canyon, the West Baiyanggou Scenic Spot, the East Baiyanggou Scenic Spot, the Ulas Terrace, the Silk Road International Ski Resort, and the Chrysanthemum Terrace.

In 2019, Urumqi County's GDP was 2683.43 million yuan, the added value of the primary industry was 739.87 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 571.81 million yuan, the general public budget revenue was 600.2 million yuan, and the general public budget expenditure was 1394.78 million yuan.
