Wudalianchi City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province, is administered by Heihe City, located in the north of Heilongjiang Province, south of Heihe City, the transition zone between the Lesser Khingan Mountains and Songnen Plain. It is adjacent to Xunke County in the east, Keshan County in the west, Nehe City, Bei 'an and Kedong County in the south, Sunwu County in the north, and Nenjiang City across the river in the northwest. The total area of the city is 9874 square kilometers. As of midnight on November 1, 2020, the population of Wudalianchi was 243,283.

In the Shang and Zhou dynasties, Wudalianchi City belongs to the residence of Su nationality and later to Niyemadi. October 8, 1983, approved by The State Council, the establishment of the county five Lianchi city, Dedu County five Lianchi town and Shuangquan commune Longquan brigade, seed farm for five Lianchi City administrative area, the city government in five Dalian Pool town. In June 1996, Dedu County and the former Wudalianchi City were merged into Wudalianchi City. As of October 2021, Wudalianchi Municipality has jurisdiction over 1 subdistrict, 8 towns, 3 townships, and 26 township units. The People's Government of Wudalianchi Municipality is located at No.91 Daodedu Street, Qingshan Street.
In 2021, Wudalianchi's GDP and general public budget revenue reached 11.49 billion yuan and 398 million yuan respectively.
