Wuhe County is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Huaihe River in the north of Anhui Province, bordered by Sihong County of Jiangsu Province in the east, Mingguang City and Fengyang County of Chuzhou City of Anhui Province in the south, adjacent to Bengbu City and Guzhen County in the west, and bounded by Sixian County and Lingbi County in the north, between 117°26 '-- 118°04' east longitude and 32°54 '-- 33°21' north latitude. The total area is 1428.5686 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 12 towns and 2 townships.

Wuhe because of domestic huai, Hui, 漴, Tong, named Tuo five water together. Wuhe County has a long history, named Hong in the Tang Dynasty and Wuhe in the Song Dynasty, which has a history of one thousand years. The territory has unearthed the most complete one hundred thousand years ago Huaihe ancient Rhombodon fossil, there are a number of Stone Age sites, Bawangcheng, Huangdun Temple, Han Wangtai, Miss Yan tomb of the ancient charm still. The folk song "Picking Pomegranates" won the gold medal of Nanning International Folk Song Festival, and the Wuhe folk song represented by it was listed in the national intangible cultural Heritage list. Shunhe Street is a famous historical and cultural street in Anhui Province. Yan's tomb was promoted to the "National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit" in 2013.

By the end of 2021, the permanent population of Wuhe County is 530,000. In 2021, the gross regional product (GDP) of Wuhe County reached 26.3 billion yuan, in which the added value of primary industry reached 7.09 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry reached 5.07 billion yuan and the added value of tertiary industry reached 14.13 billion yuan. The proportion of tertiary industry was 27:19.3:53.7. Per capita GDP is 49,896 yuan.
