Wuqiang County, subordinate to Hengshui City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeast of Hebei Province. It borders Hengshui in the south, Beijing and Tianjin in the north, Cangzhou in the east, and Shijiazhuang in the west. Wuqiang County covers a total area of 445 square kilometers. In Wuqiang County, Fuyang River and Hutuo River pass through the territory. Shihuang Expressway and 307 National Highway run from east to west. It is a temperate monsoon climate. The frost free period is 185 days, and the annual average precipitation is about 554mm. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Wuqiang County is 176672.
In 2018, the GDP of Wuqiang County reached 6.81 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.5% at comparable prices.
In 1993, Wuqiang County was named by the Ministry of Culture as the "Hometown of Chinese Woodcut New Year Art" and "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art". In 2006, Wuqiang County was rated as "Millennium Ancient County" by UNESCO.
On September 25, 2018, it won the honorary title of "2018 Comprehensive Demonstration County of E-commerce in Rural Areas" from the Ministry of Commerce. On May 5, 2019, the government of Hebei Province issued a notice, officially approving Wuqiang County to withdraw from the poverty county sequence. In September 2020, it was selected into the list of strong counties (cities and districts) in food industry in Hebei Province (cultivation type). In March 2021, it was awarded as an advanced county (city, district) for village clean action in Hebei Province in 2020.
