Xianghe County, under the jurisdiction of Langfang City, Hebei Province, is located in the plain at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain, east of central Hebei Province, and northeast of Langfang City. It adjoins Baodi District of Tianjin in the east, Wuqing District of Tianjin across Qinglongwan River in the south, Tongzhou District of Beijing in the west, Sanhe City and Dachang Hui Autonomous County in the north, with a total area of 448 square kilometers. In 2020, the registered residence population of Xianghe County will be 383600. There are 35 nationalities in total. As of October 2021, Xianghe County has nine towns under its jurisdiction.
It is named Xianghe because it is near the water in the east and south of the county town and has a slight fragrance. In the first year of Qidan Huitong (938), Wuqing, Guoxian (now Tongxian) and Sanhe divided some areas into Xianghe County, which governs today's Xianghe, Baodi and Ninghe counties. In the 12th year of Jindading (1172), 15000 families in the east of Xianghe were set up in Baodi County. In the ninth year of the reign of Emperor Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1731), Baodi County was set as Ninghe County. In 1988, Langfang District was changed to Langfang City and Xianghe belonged to it.
