Xiapu County, established in the 12th year of Yongzheng's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1734), belongs to Funing Prefecture and is now under the jurisdiction of Ningde City. It is located in the northeast of Fujian Province and the northwest of the Taiwan Strait. It was once the political, economic and cultural center of eastern Fujian.
