Xihua County, also known as the former capital of Emperor Wa, is subordinate to Zhoukou City, Henan Province. It is located in the east of the central part of Henan Province and in the middle of the Huanghuai Plain. It belongs to the Yellow River alluvial plain. It is 57 kilometers long from east to west, 21 kilometers wide from north to south on average [9], and has a total area of 1194 square kilometers. Xihua County is located in the East Henan Plain and the Huanghuai River Basin. It has a warm temperate semi humid monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and sufficient sunshine. It is dry and cold in winter with little snow, hot and rainy in summer, and mild in spring and autumn. As of October 2021, Xihua County has jurisdiction over 4 streets, 9 towns, 8 townships and 2 township level units. The county government is located in Wacheng Street. According to the results of the seventh national population census, as of 0:00 on November 1, 2020, there were 692846 permanent residents in Xihua County.

In the second year of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (205 BC), Xihua County was set up, and in 2000, it was put under the jurisdiction of Zhoukou City. In Xihua County, there are Xihua Station of Zhengzhou Hefei High speed Railway, Zhoukou Xihua General Airport, Shayinghe Channel, and Daguang Expressway, Jixi Expressway, Shangzhou Expressway, and Yongdeng Expressway passing through. There are Nuwa City ruins, New Fourth Army Dugang Division Monument and other places of interest in the county.
