Xinghe County is a county under the jurisdiction of Ulanqab City in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the southeast of Ulanqab City. Located at 40°26 "~ 41°27" north latitude, 113°21 '9 "~ 114°7' 47" east longitude, north and south length of about 109 kilometers, narrow east and west, about 67 kilometers, the total area of 3518 square kilometers. In the east, Daqingshan Mountain, Agui Mountain as the watershed, adjacent to Shangyi County, Hebei Province; In the south, it is bounded by the Great Wall and Danan Mountain, and bordered by Huaian County of Hebei Province and Tianzhen County and Yanggao County of Shanxi Province. West and Fengzhen City, Chahar right front flag border; North and Chahar right wing back banner, Shangdu County adjacent, known as "the crow smell three provinces". According to the seventh census, the permanent population of Xinghe county was 167,881 as of midnight on November 1, 2020.

Rich in resources, there are two river systems, the Inner Mongolia Plateau Inner Flow area system and the Yongding River system, a total of 38 rivers, 23 small and medium-sized lakes, the total water resources of 171.64 million cubic meters. The proved mineral resources are graphite, bentonite, molybdenum, shale kaolin and more than 30 varieties. Among them, the graphite deposits are one of the three major graphite bases in China. Autonomous region has obtained pollution-free agricultural products and production base, point of sale listing certification and national organic agricultural products conversion certification. Within the territory of Sumu Mountain Forest Park, Qar Lake tourism resort two national 4A level scenic spots, annual reception of tourists up to 360,000 people. Sumu Mountain Forest Park forest coverage rate of 71%, known as "natural oxygen bar". Chal Lake tourism resort, with a total area of 66,000 mu, 7.7 square kilometers of water area, a total storage capacity of 116 million cubic meters.
In 2020, the annual GDP of Xinghe County reached 5.79 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 1.5%.

On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 E-commerce into Rural Comprehensive Demonstration County" by the Ministry of Commerce. In March 2020, the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region agreed to remove Xinghe County from the poverty-stricken flag county list after research.
