Xingren City, under the Qiandinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, is the central city of the junction of Yunnan, Guangxi and Guizhou provinces. It borders Zhenfeng County to the east, Anlong County and Xingyi City to the south, Pu 'an County to the west, Qinglong County to the north, and Guanling County across the river to the northeast. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, and the climate is warm and dry in winter. There is no cold in winter, no hot summer in summer, long frost-free period, rain and heat in the same season. It covers an area of 1785 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 6 streets, 11 towns and 1 township. According to the seventh census data, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Heunggren was 425,770.
Qinglong-xingyi Expressway, Huixing Expressway, Guanling to Xingren, Xingren to Anlong Highway, provincial roads 213, 309, 313 run through the whole city of Xingren. In October 2019, it was selected into the list of Top 100 Counties and cities in West China in 2019.
On September 18, 2018, through the national special evaluation and inspection, Xingren County met the conditions for withdrawal from the poverty-stricken county. The Guizhou provincial government released a notice on Thursday, saying it would allow 14 counties (districts), including Xingren County, to withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties.
In 2020, the GDP of Xingren region reached 19.164 billion yuan, an increase of 3.5% year on year.
