Xingtai County, formerly under the jurisdiction of Xingtai City, Hebei Province, is located in the southwest of Hebei Province, at the eastern foot of the Taihang Mountains. It is a mountainous county with "seven mountains, one beach and two fields". As of October 2018, Xingtai County has jurisdiction over 10 towns, 6 townships and 519 administrative villages, with an area of 1848 square kilometers and a population of 336000. In the Qin Dynasty, Xindu County was established; in the Han Dynasty, Xiangguo County was established; in the Sui Dynasty, it was changed to Longgang County (Longgang County). In the second year of Xuanhe (1120), Zhao Ji, the Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty, was originally under the jurisdiction of the State of Xing and built Tantai, so Longgang County was changed to Xingtai County.

Xingtai County was nominated by UNESCO as the "Global Top 500 Livable Environments" and named as a provincial geological park by the Hebei Provincial Government. Qiannanyu, known as "the greenest place in Taihang Mountain", is the site of the former Chinese People's Anti Japanese Military and Political University, and has won the nomination award of "Global Top 500 Environmental Protection".

In 2017, Xingtai County achieved a GDP of 15.58 billion yuan, up 7% year on year; The per capita disposable income of urban residents was 27500 yuan, up 8.8% year on year; The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 12631 yuan, up 9.6% year on year.

In June 2020, the State Council approved the revocation of Xingtai County, and the original Yurangqiao Street, Yanjiatun Town, Zhucun Town and Dongwang Town of Xingtai County were under the jurisdiction of Xiangdu District of Xingtai City. The original Nanshimen Town, Yangfan Town, Huangsi Town, Huining Town, Xihuang Village Town, Luluo Town, Jiangjunmu Town, Jiangshui Town, Songjiazhuang Town, Taizijing Township, Longquansi Township, Beixiaozhuang Township, Chengjitou Township, Bai'an Township Jijia Village is under the jurisdiction of Xindu District, Xingtai City.
