Xiuwu County, under the jurisdiction of Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, is located in the northwest of Henan Province and the east of Jiaozuo City. It is adjacent to Huojia County and Huixian City of Xinxiang City in the east, Wuzhi County of Jiaozuo City in the south, Jiaozuo City in the west, and Jincheng City, Zezhou County and Lingchuan County of Shanxi Province in the north. Xiuwu County covers an area of 611 square kilometers. As of November 2020, the permanent population of Xiuwu County is 248500. Xiuwu County has jurisdiction over 5 towns, 3 townships and 1 industrial and trade zone.

Xiuwu County is a millennium old county, a national ecological demonstration area, a national greening model county, a national garden county, a double support model county in Henan Province, and a national health county. Zhengzhou Jiaozuo Intercity Railway, Hebao Expressway, Zhengzhou Jiaozuo Jincheng Expressway and Zhengzhou Yuncheng Expressway pass through the territory.
