Xixian County, known as Xizhou in ancient times, is a county under the jurisdiction of Linfen City, Shanxi Province. It is located in the southwest of Shanxi Province and the northwest edge of Linfen City, at the southern foot of Luliang Mountain in the west of Shanxi Province. It is a typical residual plateau gully area of the Loess Plateau, with a temperate continental monsoon climate. It is adjacent to 6 counties, with a total area of 1413.22 square kilometers. As of October 2021, Xi County has jurisdiction over 3 towns and 4 townships. According to the data of the seventh national population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population is 91,394.
Xi County is known as the "Hedong Key Town and Sanjin Xiongbang", and is famous for its rich golden pears. In the fifth year of Emperor Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (585), the county is now Xizhou; In the early years of the Republic of China (1912), it was renamed Xi County, which was directly in Shanxi Province; In October 2000, the system of city governing county was implemented, and Xi County was under the leadership of Linfen City. The main scenic spots in Xi County include Xixian Xiaoxitian, Qilijiao Grottoes, Zijing Mountain Scenic Area, and the Western Shanxi Revolutionary Memorial Hall. On June 30, 2020, Xi County was selected as one of the "Second Batch of Revolutionary Cultural Relics Protection and Utilization Areas and Counties".
