Xixiang County, subordinate to Hanzhong City of Shanxi Province, is located in the east of Hanzhong, bordering Shiquan County and Hanyin County of Ankang City in the east, bordering Zhenba County, Nanzheng County and Tongjiang County of Sichuan Province in the south, bordering Chenggu County in the west and Yang County in the north, covering an area of 3229 square kilometers. As of October 2021, Xixiang County has jurisdiction over 2 subdistricts and 15 towns.

Xixiang County in the Xia and Shang Dynasties (Ca. 21 BC -- 11 BC) belonged to the State of Liang Zhou. The Eastern Han Dynasty Yongyuan seven years (95 years), for the Xixiang county city. Xixiang county name began in the Jin Taikang two years (281 years), because Zhang Fei here was named Xixiang Hou, by Nanxiang County renamed Xixiang County. Then the county name repeatedly changed repeatedly, to the first year of the Sui Daye (605 years), again to Xixiang county name, Xixiang county name continues to this day. Xixiang County has a rich cultural heritage. The Lijiacun site dates back to more than 7,000 years ago, when ancestors lived and multiplied, which is known as the early representative of Neolithic culture. The Hejiawan culture dates back to more than 6000 years ago, when people gathered together and lived together. At present, Xixiang County has also emerged red elites such as Jiang Longji, Zhang Yangwu and Chen Yin, who are in charge of the party and government work of Peking University, Lanzhou University, Minzu University of China and Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.

By the end of 2021, Xixiang County has 319,200 permanent residents. In 2021, the gross regional product of Xixiang County reached 13.398 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry was 2.807 billion yuan, the secondary industry was 4.978 billion yuan and the tertiary industry was 5.613 billion yuan.
