Yanting County, under the Mianyang city of Sichuan Province, located in the southeast of Mianyang, because of the territory of salt Wells, brine production rich named salt pavilion. Located in the north of the central Sichuan Basin, the geographical coordinates are between 105°12 '17 "-105°43' 20" east longitude and 30°58 '31 "-31°39' 40" north latitude, with a total area of 1645 square kilometers. The terrain is mainly mountainous and hilly, a subtropical humid monsoon climate zone. As of 2019, Yanting County had jurisdiction over one township, one nationality township, 14 towns and one subdistrict. Yanting County has a history of more than 1,600 years since it was established in the first year of Yixi of Emperor An of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (405). Lei zu invented planting mulberry and raising silkworms, spinning silk and weaving silk, and was respected by the generations as the first silkworm and silkworm god. Yanting County has rich historical and cultural relics represented by the Lei Zu Mausoleum, Bi Pagoda, Wentong Tomb, Jade Gate of the Ming Dynasty, Jade Dragon Memorial Archway of the Qing Dynasty, and the Temple Fair of the Jade Dragon, as well as provincial intangible cultural heritage represented by the Peach Dragon, Silkworm Dragon, Silkworm Gu Temple, and the legend of the Silk ancestral God, and folk customs represented by Lei zu folk sacrifice activities such as silkworm dragon dance and red shoes offering.

In 2020, Yanting County's GDP reached 17.443 billion yuan, an increase of 4.2%; local public budget revenue reached 402 million yuan, an increase of 3.1%; industrial added value above designated size increased by 6.8%; total retail sales of consumer goods decreased by 1.5%; per capita disposable income of urban residents increased by 5.9%. The per capita disposable income of rural residents increased by 8.7%.
