Yingde, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, is managed by Qingyuan City. Yingde is located in the southeast of Nanling Mountains, the north-central part of Guangdong Province, and the middle reaches of Beijiang River. In the first year of Qingyuan in the Southern Song Dynasty (1195), Yingzhou was upgraded to Yingde Prefecture, which was named Yingde from the beginning. In the 15th year of the Yuan to Yuan Dynasty (1278), Yingde Mansion was changed to Yingde Road Headquarters; In the first year of the Zhida era (1308), it was reduced to a state. In the second year of Hongwu in the early Ming Dynasty (1369), Yingde County was changed to Yingde County. In January 1994, Yingde was removed from the county and set up a city (county-level city), which was managed by Qingyuan City. Yingde City, with an area of 5634 square kilometers, is the largest county-level administrative region in Guangdong Province. In 1996, Yingde was rated as the second batch of famous historical and cultural cities in Guangdong Province. As of October 2020, Yingde City has 1 street and 23 towns under its jurisdiction. At the end of 2021, the total registered residence population is 1206690; At the end of the year, there were 943500 permanent residents in the city.

The Yingde River is composed of 16 tributaries with a catchment area of more than 100 square kilometers, except for the three major transit rivers of Beijiang, Wujiang and Lianjiang. Yingde has a fertile soil and a moist climate, forming a production base of high-quality rice, oilseed, sugarcane, sericulture, tea, vegetables, fruit, bamboo shoots and other commodities. The planting area of bamboo shoots and bamboo shoots is 400000 mu, which has been designated as one of the pilot cities (counties) of national agricultural industrialization by the Ministry of Rural Agriculture. It is a pilot project of fiscal reform in counties directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. Hakka snacks are quite distinctive. Bamboo shoots, tofu and yuzhu are very famous. Bamboo shoots are crisp and tender, and the tofu is silky and smooth. It enjoys the good reputation of the township of cement in Guangdong, the township of limestone caves in Guangdong, the township of stone in China, the "township of black tea and green tea in China", and the "township of hemp bamboo shoots in China".

In 2021, Yingde City will achieve a gross regional product of 40.37 billion yuan, an increase of 11.0% year-on-year and an average increase of 8.1% in two years based on comparable prices.
