Yi County, belonging to Huangshan City of Anhui Province, is located in the south of Anhui Province and the north of Huangshan City, between east longitude 117°38 '30 "-118°6' and north latitude 29°47 '-30°11' 30". It is adjacent to Huangshan District and Xiuning County in the east, adjacent to Xiuning County and Qimen County in the south, adjacent to Qimen County in the west, and dependent to Shitai County and Huangshan District in the north. By the end of 2020, Yixian has jurisdiction over 5 towns and 3 townships, with a permanent resident population of 76,211 people.

Yixian County is a national historical and cultural city [30-31], one of the origins of "Hui merchants" and "Hui culture", known as "the Museum of Ancient dwellings in Ming and Qing Dynasties of China" and "the epitome of traditional Chinese culture". It has been awarded the "thousand-year-old ancient county" as the cultural heritage of Chinese place names, and is the core area for the inheritance and development of Hui culture.. Yi County is also called "village in Chinese painting" and "people in the peach blossom source". There are a large number of dwellings, ancestral halls, archways and gardens in Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as Xidi and Hongcun ancient villages, which are world cultural heritages.

In 2020, Yixian County achieved a gross regional product (GDP) of 4.56 billion yuan, calculated at comparable prices, an increase of 3.7% compared with the previous year.
