Yuanshi County, subordinate to Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, is located in the south central part of Hebei Province. It borders Jingxing County on Taihang Mountain in the west, Zanhuang County in the southwest, Gaoyi County in the south, Zhaoxian County and Luancheng District in the east, and Luquan District in the north. 39 kilometers from east to west and 28 kilometers from north to south.

Yuanshi County has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 7 townships and 208 administrative villages, with a total area of 676 square kilometers and a cultivated land area of 540000 mu. It has a warm temperate semi humid continental climate. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Yuanshi County is 392710.

The traffic in the territory is convenient. The Beijing Guangzhou Railway and National Highway 107 run through the north and south, and the roads connecting the surrounding counties and cities extend in all directions.

In March 2019, it was listed in the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area and county list. In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality safety counties.
