Yucheng County is subordinate to Shangqiu City, Henan Province. It is located in the east of Henan Province, at the junction of Henan, Shandong and Anhui provinces, between 33 ° 43 '- 34 ° 52' N and 114 ° 49 '- 116 ° 39' E, covering an area of 1558 square kilometers. Yucheng County is located in the middle latitude, with a semi humid and semi-arid continental monsoon climate in the eastern warm temperate zone. The four seasons are distinct. Yucheng County has a flat terrain, rich natural resources, an annual average temperature of 14 ℃, an annual sunshine rate of 53%, and an annual average frost free period of 216 days. As of September 2022, Yucheng County has jurisdiction over Yucheng High tech Industrial Development Zone, 10 towns and 15 townships, and the county government is stationed in Chengguan Town. According to the data of the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Yucheng County is 972091.

In the 21st century BC, Xia Yu granted Shun, his sons, and merchants all the residences here, with the name of "Youyu", which was later called the State of Yu. Lun City in the west of Yucheng was an important capital in the mid Xia Dynasty. After the Shang Dynasty destroyed the Xia Dynasty, the capital of Bo (now southwest of Gushu Town, Yucheng County) established the Shang Dynasty. Yu County was set up in Qin Dynasty, and Yucheng County was set up in the 16th year of Emperor Kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (596). In 1949, Yucheng belonged to Shangqiu District, Henan Province. In 1997, Shangqiu City was established, and Yucheng belongs to Shangqiu City. On January 22, 2020, Yucheng County was named National Garden County by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development.

In 2020, the gross output value of Yucheng County will be 34.57 billion yuan, ranking the first in the city (county and district) for consecutive years, with an increase of 1.3%, and the growth rate will be the third in the city (county and district).
