Yulong Naxi Autonomous County (Yulong County), subordinate to Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, is the only Naxi Autonomous County in the country. The county is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, bordering Gucheng District and Ninglang County in the east, Jianchuan County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in the south, Weixi County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Lanping County, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in the west, Shangri-La City, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and Muli Tibetan Autonomous County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province in the north, The total area is 6198.76 square kilometers. By 2021, the county has jurisdiction over 7 towns and 9 townships (including 3 ethnic townships), with a registered residence population of 226686 people (2020).

Yulong Naxi Autonomous County is located at the junction of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, at the southern foot of Hengduan Mountain. It is a Sichuan-Yunnan forest and biodiversity ecological functional area, a key forest area in Yunnan Province, and a county with rich tourism resources in Yunnan Province and even the whole country. The main tourist attractions include Yulong Snow Mountain, the first bay of the Yangtze River, Laojun Mountain, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Baoshan Stone City, and Lashihai Plateau Wetland. Featured products include Lijiang Baba, chicken bean jelly, dried yak meat, rice sausage, and Deyi preserved fruit.

Yulong Naxi Autonomous County has been awarded the honorary titles of China's famous ecological charm county, China's township of forestry and medicine, Yunnan's township of Yunnan Yunyao, the top 100 counties of national tourism competitiveness, the national leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration county, and Yunnan's provincial tourism demonstration area. In 2020, the regional GDP of Yulong Naxi Autonomous County will reach 9.015 billion yuan.
