Yuzhong County, under Lanzhou City in Gansu Province. It is located in the central part of Gansu Province, bordered by Qlihe District and Chengguan District on the west, Anding District, Dingxi City on the east, Lintao County on the southwest, Gaolin County, Baiyin District, Baiyin City across the Yellow River on the north, and Jingyuan County and Huining County on the northeast. The terrain is high in the south and low in the north and low in the middle. It is a temperate continental climate. The total area of the county is 3302 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 11 towns and 9 townships. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Yuzhong County was 473,882.

Yuzhong County is divided into three roads by the ancient Silk Road, and Xinglong Mountain is a national 4A scenic spot and a national nature reserve. The ancient town Qingcheng is listed as "National Historic and cultural Town" for its historical and cultural relics and ancient buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasties. County traffic is more developed, Lanxin second line, Lanyu railway, Baolan passenger special railway, high-speed rail, highway running through the north and south. On December 13, 2018, it was selected into the list of advantage areas of agricultural products with Chinese characteristics. On April 28, 2019, the government of Gansu Province approved the withdrawal of Yuzhong County from poverty.

In 2019, the annual GDP of Yuzhong County reached 15.571 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 9.6%.
