Zezhou County, located in Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, was originally a suburb of Jincheng City, and was renamed its current name in 1996. It is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province and the southern part of Taihang Mountain, at the junction of Shanxi and Henan provinces. Since ancient times, it has been the main thrust of the Three Jin Dynasties leading to the Central Plains. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Zezhou County was 414,999.

It is 62.75 kilometers wide from east to west and 58.85 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 2023 square kilometers and an area of 725,000 mu of cultivated land, accounting for about 1.2% of the total area of Shanxi.
