Zhenfeng County is affiliated to the Qiandinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, located in the east of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the southwest of Guizhou Province. It is located by the Beipan River, the upper source of the Xijiang River in the Pearl River System, bordered by Zhenning and Wangmo in the east, Anlong and Sheheng in the south, Xingren in the west and Guanling in the north. It is between 105°25 '-- 105°56' east longitude and 25°07 '-- 25°44' north latitude. It is 52 kilometers wide from east to west and 67 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 1511 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of midnight on November 1, 2020, the permanent population of Zhenfeng County was 307,313.
Zhenfeng County was founded during the reign of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty. It is the north gate connecting Qianxinan Prefecture and the provincial capital Guiyang. It is the first ethnic culture tourism pilot zone in Guizhou Province. Twelve rural tourism demonstration sites with ethnic characteristics have been developed, including Nakon, Bike, Rockfish and Xianghu.
In 2019, Zhenfeng County had jurisdiction over five subdistricts, nine towns and three townships, with a total population of 420,000.
In 2020, the GDP of Zhenfeng County was 15.215 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%.
